The European Research Council Executive Agency (ERCEA) was organizing a training conference for ERC Principle Investigators in collaboration with the German National Contact Point. The Harvard-China Project (HCP) is an interdisciplinary research program on China's atmospheric environment, energy system, and economy, collaborating across schools of Harvard and partner universities in China. Dr. Emlyn Yang gave an invited talk at the HCP’s research seminar on topic of climate resilience in the Mekong basin.

International workshop on Flood Risk and Resilience at Community Level
The Chair of Human Geography at LMU Munich held a two-day international workshop (01-02 December 2022) on Flood Risk and Resilience at Community Level. About 40 people (including speakers and audiences) attended the workshop. The workshop is a planned event of the Sino-German Mobility Program "FReCom". Dr. Emlyn Yang and colleagues took lead in coordinating and organizing the workshop.

As the STORIES project is expected to start in April 2023, it started to call for new members in the end of 2022. This call includes two positions, one postdoc researcher on modeling flood resilience and one PhD student on empirical flood resilience studies.

“How can you live here?” LMU Munich interviewed the PI Dr. Emlyn Yang and reported the STORIES project with the attractive title. The article was published as a highlight on the cover page of LMU’s homepage on 28 September 2022. An introduction video was also released on the same day at LMU’s Youtube channel.

STORIES Grant Agreement signed at LMU in July 2022
After a long period of preparation on various aspects, ERCEA and LMU Munich as the host institute signed the Grant Agreement on 12 July 2022. The Grant Agreement as an official document formally confirmed the grant to Dr. Liang Emlyn Yang at LMU Munich and the associated aspects regarding the budget management, project implementation, interim reports, ethnic clearance, etc.

Dr. Yang was invited to the Bayerische Staatskanzlei, Munich
The Meeting with Bavarian Young Researchers (Treffen mit Bayerns Wissenschaftsnachwuchs) was hold at the State Chancellery (Bayerische Staatskanzlei) at Munich on the 3rd of May 2022. The meeting was organized to gether Bavaria young researchers who won the ERC Stating Grant early this year. Dr. Liang Emlyn Yang was invited to the meeting and presented his grant STORIES.

STORIES proposal was approved for the ERC Starting Grant!
Research proposal of the STORIES project was submitted in April 2021. After three rounds of reviews in about 8 months, the ERC Executive Agency announced formally on 10 January 2022 that STORIES was approved for funding. As the host institute, LMU released the news of its four successful grants including STORIES on the same day.
